Data Attributes

Attributes are generally characteristics that describe an object in more detail. All information that can be obtained from a data source is referred to as an attribute. These attributes can be divided into two types. Basic attributes are necessary for putting the data into the right context and processing it.

In addition to the basic attributes, information attributes contain the actual information that is to be obtained from the data source.

The difference is clearly illustrated by the example of a temperature sensor or thermometer.

Basic AttributesInformation Attributes

Without the base attributes, the information attribute is useless. It would only be a value that is not interpretable, since one cannot know where or when it was collected.
